Accelerated Reader Program

The Accelerated Reader Program is designed to support your child's reading and comprehension skills.  Library books that are part of the AR program are labled with a color-coded sticker based on reading level, as well as a sticker on the inside front cover.  This sticker will tell you the exact reading level and point value of each book.

 AR Color Code and Reading Levels:

Orange Stickers - Kindergarten (0.0-0.9) and 1st Grade (1.0-1.9)

Brown Stickers - 2nd Grade (2.0-2.9)

Green Stickers - 3rd Grade (3.0-3.9)

Red Stickers - 4th Grade (4.0-4.9)

Yellow Stickers - 5th Grade (5.0-5.9)

Blue Stickers - Middle School (Grades 6, 7, 8)

 Monthly Point Goals By Grade Level:

Every month, students work to earn their monthly point goals for AR.  The goals per grade level are as follows:

1st Grade = 3 points per month

2nd Grade = 5 points per month

3rd Grade = 5 points per month

4th Grade = 7 points per month

5th Grade = 10 points per month
