Welcome to the the Department of Gifted Services where we believe that "Fair isn't everyone getting the same thing; fair is everyone getting what they need in order to be successful."
Overview
The Gifted Resource Teacher (GRT) collaborates with teachers of honors and Advanced Placement courses to plan and implement differentiated instruction for gifted students and to evaluate student growth. The GRT confers with parents, guidance counselors, and administrators to support the long-term progress, achievement, and affective well-being of students. The GRT is available to provide parent and staff development activities related to gifted education issues and topics and to assist gifted learners with applications to challenging programs such as Summer Residential Governor’s School.

My name is Ms. Hope Settle, and I'm proud to be a part of the Booker T. Washington High School support team. As a gifted resource teacher, I am here to monitor your academic progress, help keep you challenged, offer social emotional support and be a thought partner as you grow during your high school years.
I will be at Booker T. Washington High School every Wednesday and Thursday. You will see me in your classrooms to support you and your teachers.
If you need to meet with me for an individual discussion, you can email me or put a request in the mailbox for gifted students in the front office.
