NJROTC Teams & Activities
NJROTC goes beyond the classroom. Within the unit, teams compete with other NJROTC units. Each team activity refines the skills necessary to transition into becoming a successful adult. Choose which teams you would like to commit your time & energy to. Available teams are described below:
JLAB – An academic team; competes by answering military trivia questions. Think team Jeopardy!
Drill Teams –multiple drill teams within the unit that refine a specific marching skill. Learn to march as a group, unarmed or with practice rifles, & perform highly synchronized routines. Drill Cards
Orienteering – Follow the map and navigate to selected points within a forest. Orienteering Training Guide
Cyber Patriot – Like working on computers? Learn cyber security & advanced networking skills. Teams work together to identify network security issues & keep computers safe from hackers. Color Guard – Show reverence for those who have served our nation & and carry our flag at the start of many local ceremonies; parades, celebrations & sporting events. Compete with other units for the distinction of the most professional team.
Marksmanship – Learn self-control and self-discipline while learning the art of sharp shooting. Using air rifles, teams compete by demonstrating the most accurately shot targets. More Information
Fitness – Think you are in shape or want to get healthier? Compete to see which teams are the strongest, fastest & have the most endurance.

ROTC Scholarships: The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is a college program offered at more than 1,700 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U.S. Military. In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, participants, or cadets, commit to serve in the Military after graduation. Each Service branch has its own requirments and application process.

Navy Prepatory Program (NPP) Scholarship
The Naval ROTC Preparatory Program (NPP) scholarship is a program aimed to prepare midshipman-candidates to succeed in the Naval ROTC program. The program selects candidates with great academic and leadership potential and improves their learning capabilities so that they are able to academically address the rigorous, demanding, and fast paced courses at the college and NROTC program level. It is designed for those students who have a 800-1200 SAT score who need an additional year of college preparation. Midshipmen that complete the one year prep course are automatically offered a four year NROTC scholarship.
Military Preparations
Automatic Advancement – NJROTC Cadets who pass 3 years in NJROTC will automatically be promoted to E3 or E2 if they chose to enlist in the armed forces.
