• Voluntary Withdrawal
Families that wish to withdraw from the VSA will follow Norfolk Public Schools’ policy for transferring schools.

A student's withdrawal is on a case-by-case basis. If a decision is made to withdraw from the VSA program, the student's school-based principal will need to be notified. Additional documentation will be required to ensure your student is successfully enrolled in a face-to-face school. In almost all cases your student will have a new teacher(s) in the face-to-face classroom. Once the administration is contacted and documentation is completed, you will be contacted to determine if modifications need to be made to your student's VSA experience or if a transfer is necessary.

    Involuntary Withdrawal
If a VSA teacher or administrator determines that the VSA is not a good fit for your student, a discussion on withdrawing your student may occur. This determination may occur if your student is not actively attending and participating in Zoom sessions, not engaging in the Canvas platform, not successfully completing assignments, or any circumstance that may be detrimental to your student’s academic well-being. If an involuntary withdrawal is needed, your student will be enrolled back into a face-to-face school. In almost all cases your student will have a new teacher(s) in the face-to-face classroom.
